What It Means:
The featured image above, was today, submitted to a competition run by The Cumberland. The photograph was submitted in the category: What it means to be Cumbrian.
What being Cumbrian, means to me:
I’m an advocate of the outdoors, and believe that our countryside plays a big part in what it means to be Cumbrian.
Being Cumbrian is a state of being, which is a reflection of our landscape. When I look across a lake, out to sea, or from the top of a mountain, I feel pure indulgence.
Happiness is the epitome of all Cumbrians, and is an attractive force which pulls in visitors from far afield wanting to share in our joy of all that is good. Our happiness transcends cultural boundaries.
We Cumbrians are a diverse people, with one common denominator:
BIG BROAD SMILES.
