A Bit Of A Dreamer!
This website is here to showcase my work, and is the starting point of a journey that is expected to have many twists and turns. I am a bit of a dreamer, so maybe I’m looking too far into the future with this project. But, we can all dream, can’t we.. or am I an idiot?
Douglas Adams: He was a dreamer, a thinker, a speculative philosopher… or, as his wife would have it, an idiot.
Keen To Learn…
I’ve been very interested in photography, from when I picked up my first camera as a child, to right now. I’m a keen amateur wanting to learn more about photography, from composition through to exposure, post-production and more.
I am available to carry out a photo-shoot, but please be aware – I don’t do wedding photography. For that, I do recommend my good friend, Jayne Laine.
Because I’m an amateur, the price of a photo-shoot will be reflected in that fact. Please do get in touch – I think you will be pleasantly surprised!
Ansel Adams: The herculean task of a photographer is to capture a momentary frame as beautiful in reality, as it would be in a dream.
Happiest With My Camera In Hand
Those that know me, will know that I’m happiest with a camera in my hand. I’m trying to think of a euphemism, but I best behave myself, and keep this post clean…
Down the years (since 1990), I’ve had a number of websites that have usually been devoted to local history. Photography did of course play a part in those websites. However, I’ve never been entirely happy with the direction things were heading, and was always looking for something different to do.
In 2013, the progress I had been making (and life) was put on the back-burner when I saw a small article in a local newspaper which announced that there was to be a petition launched, which would hopefully change the way politics was carried out in the area. I really wish I had never seen the article and got involved. The whole experience consumed my life.
Those living in Copeland, West Cumbria, may have heard of the campaign group I became involved with – Time for Change (T4C) – this was the group that campaigned for a Town Council for Whitehaven, and a Directly Elected Mayor for the Borough.
So, this is where I am today (2016). I have decided to leave the murky world of sickening, dirty politics, after experiencing threats of violence, illegal conduct and so much more. The stories I could tell would leave the hairs standing up on your neck, and send a shudder down your spine!
Politics in West Cumbria is rotten to the core.
Now, I have returned to the path that I first set out on, with a tool in hand which makes me smile – sorry.. there is the euphemism I spoke of earlier. Oh.. yeah.. I am a bit of a joker too!
I hope you enjoy my photographs, and please do share them with your friends. Thanks!
